Cruise ship bus breaks down: Another headache for some Carnival passengers

Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen says?another?bus?was available and those aboard were transferred and continued to New Orleans where they arrived safely later Friday morning.

Passengers from the Carnival ship Triumph, all wearing their Carnival bathrobes, head to their cars after arriving in Galveston, Texas from Mobile, Ala. on Friday Feb. 15. Hundreds of passengers opted to take an eight-hour bus ride to Galveston from Mobile. Galveston is the home port of the ill-fated ship, which lost power in an engine-room fire Sunday some 150 miles off Mexico's Yucatan peninsula.

Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen says a?bus?got sidelined Friday on the way to New Orleans after leaving Mobile, Ala.

He says another?bus?was available and those aboard were transferred and continued to New Orleans where they arrived safely later Friday morning.

The?ship?carrying some 4,200 people and under tow by tugboats docked late Thursday, after an engine-room fire Sunday left it powerless and adrift.
