Ray Lewis Predicts Crime Will Rise Without the NFL | Football News ...

Football or crime spree? That seems to be your only choices this coming fall according to Ray Lewis. Lewis had some interesting views on the lockout for everyone this past weekend. Mr.Lewis seems to think that the NFL lockout will have a bigger effect on society than one might have initially thought. In an interview on ESPN, Lewis?said that the nation?s crime rate will rise and we will see evil.

If anyone should know about evil and crime it?s Ray Lewis. Now deeply involved in the Charm City community, Lewis was once convicted of obstruction of justice in a 2000 murder trial in Atlanta.

This all came out from his ESPN interview, and here was exactly what Ray said.

?Do this research if we don?t have a season ? watch how much evil, which we call crime, watch how much crime picks up, if you take away our game. ? There?s too many people that live through us, people live through us,? he said. ?Yeah, walk in the streets, the way I walk the streets, and I?m not talking about the people you see all the time.?

So Lewis is suggesting that football fans will be so miserable without football that they?re going to commit crimes? I don?t believe that. Most football fans are normal, hardworking people. Most football fans are blue-collar people that love the game. I don?t believe that crime is going to go up without football.

However, I do believe that crime will go up with current NFL players. Most players get in trouble during the offseason. With no football, no coaches and owners to keep guys in check, will end up getting themselves in trouble.

Fact is millions of Americans are out of work due to unemployment, but I have not heard that crime is up.?Lewis thinks?that fans will go on a crime spree unless there is football? GIVE ME A BREAK! There might be a few thousand fans that live through football who might have their lives ( if you can call them that) disrupted, but not many of them are of a criminal mind set like Ray Lewis is.

Lewis is a great player, one of the greatest of all-time, but he?s out of line here.
