About 24 hours after the death of Whitney Houston, the family of this once-in-a-generation singer has released the following statement:
"We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends."
Bobby Brown, Whitney's husband of 15 years and the father of her daughter, has also spoken out for the first time, telling the public:
“I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. At this time, we ask for privacy, especially for my daughter, Bobbi Kristina. I appreciate all of the condolences that have been directed towards my family and I at this most difficult time.”
It is believe that Houston died in her hotel room bathtub following an overdose of prescription pills.
Child Bobbi Kristina, meanwhile, has twice visited the hospital since her mother died, being taken off on a stretcher earlier today due to overwhelming anxiety and stress, sources confirm.
