Don?t let greed and lust control you. The Internet is filled with affiliate offers that are plastered with images of mansions, yachts, luxury cars, etc and testimonials from gorgeous models who claim that they made tons of money almost right away simply by using the same software that they are trying to entice you to buy. Keep your head and do your research before clicking the buy button. You would do some research into any product being so forcefully promoted to you offline. You have to practice this logic on the internet as well.

Don?t try to go too far too soon. Start with something small to test the waters. These smaller opportunities are important while you determine what to do to help yourself and what to do that will hurt you. For example, start with one easily salable affiliate product. Don?t try to develop your own product and affiliate program outright. Try out blogging by yourself before you try to launch a fully blown subscription based online magazine. This will allow you time to really get a taste for something before committing yourself completely and then discovering that you hate the field you?ve chosen.

There are a lot of opportunities for slacking off when you are working from home. Do not give in to the urge to slacken! If you honestly have an easier time thinking with the television on as background noise and while sitting on the sofa and working on your computer that?s fine. If you find, though, that you spend more time watching television than getting work done, you?re in trouble. It is good to set up a space in your home and devote a certain amount of time to that space, just like you would if you had a traditional job. It is essential that you don?t let all of those chores that used to wait until the weekend get in the way of your getting done what must get done for your IM business. This is tough in the beginning but if you are diligent you can train your brain and body to ignore the distractions of working at home.
