THE LONDON SCREENWRITERS' FESTIVAL ? Rushes Soho Shorts

The London Screenwriters? Festival is upon us again, and this year it brings an even greater selection of speakers and lecturers to Regent?s College.?The festival is a three day event that runs from October 26th to 28th (Friday to Sunday) for professional screenwriters and filmmakers. There are over 70 sessions and 100 industry speakers. These will be three days of networking, education and entertainment.

PHIL FORD ?

Writer on?Doctor Who,?Torchwood and?The Sarah Jane Adventures, Phil Ford is a force to be reckoned with in modern television. He?was twice nominated for it as Best Writer in the Children?s BAFTA Award, and he also shares a Hugo Award with Russell T Davies for their work on Doctor Who.

DAVID YATES

David Yates is the award-winning director of the last four Harry Potter movies which should, really, speak for itself ? he?s a towering figure in British Cinema.

LISA ALBERT

For a view from across the pond, Lisa Albert has won four writers guild awards for her work on?Mad?Men?- this will surely give a fascinating insight into a television phenomenon.

MIKE LEIGH?

Mike Leigh?s method of storytelling and filmmaking is, famously, a closely guarded secret. But when it comes to crafting a narrative with the actors taking part along the way, Leigh is clearly the king, and this discussion can?t help but take in some element of his process.
